Description:
A hand crewmember engaged in mop-up on the Horse Gulch Fire, Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, Montana, experienced heat related illness. The crew member was wearing multiple wool & cotton layers on top and bottom to avoid insect bites/stings. Additional layers were worn on day shift in high-90s weather conditions. Assigned EMTs assisted, and the crewmember was transported to the hospital with an incident-assigned ambulance. The crewmember was treated and released on 7/16/24.
