Description:
On February 4, 2004, during the ignition phase of the Island Lake Prescribed Fire, conducted at Imperial National Wildlife Refuge, north of Yuma, Arizona, the burn crossed the refuge boundary. It burned into another jurisdiction without the approval of an interagency agreement and was declared an escaped wildfire.
