Description:
A Boise NF firefighter experienced heat exhaustion, vomiting and was in and out of consciousness. The firefighter was located in extremely steep terrain and was unable to walk out. A local volunteer EMT on scene assessed the patient. The Incident Commander ordered a Short-Haul ship which arrived approximately one hour later and extracted the patient to Atlanta, Idaho, where the patient was transferred to the air ambulance helicopter and then to the hospital.
