Description:
At approximately 1100, a crew member with the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management Type 2 crew fell into a hot ash pit when the ground gave way on a berm where the employee was conducting mop up operations. The employee suffered burn injuries that required immediate medical intervention, emergent transport to a local hospital, and subsequent aeromedical transport to a burn center.
