Lighthouse Fire Tree Felling RLS 2012

While working in a cottonwood stand, a Class C Faller began to prepare to fall a tree by bucking out logs in the escape route. The sawyer decided to take a second look at the tree to be felled and perceived small cracks they had not previously noticed. The tree suddenly began to break, and personnel moved away from the area. From a safe distance they watched the tree fail and crash to the ground.
