Description:
On June 27, 1974, a Convair P4Y-2 air tanker registered N7237C impacted terrain during a retardant drop run on the Lindsay Fire on Mt Graham, near Safford, Arizona. The NTSB summary report states that misjudging terrain clearance was the cause of the accident on the Coronado National Forest. Little further information, including pilots' names, is readily available.
