Description:
While attempting to suppress spot fires on the green side of a road on the Log Fire, Oregon, a BLM engine was impacted by a sudden flareup from the opposite side of the road. Other firefighters working in the green escaped to their engine and were not impacted by the flareup. The BLM engine suffered burn damage during the 60 to 90-second increase in fire behavior. No one was injured.
