Lynx Creek Fire Hit by Tree Fatality 1950

Edward Archer was killed by a falling tree while suppressing the Lynx Creek Fire on the Bridger National Forest, Wyoming. Archer, a sawmill operator in the area, came to assist with fire operations on this 60-acre fire. While working with a handcrew, a large piece of a tree fell and hit Archer. He was transported to the road by stretcher then driven to the hospital in Afton, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
