Description:
Edward Cruse, an enrollee with the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) at Camp Fallbrook in California, was killed in a fall while assigned to the water-carrying crew [carrying drinking water] on the Margarita Fire. The exact location of this fire is unclear, but Cruse is reported to have fallen into Temecula Canyon in San Diego County.
