  • Description:

    Three different Dodge 1500 pickups—years 2014-2017—had their gas tanks collapse on the Martin Fire over the course of one week. During this incident, the dust (Moon Dust/Bug Dust) on the access roads progressively got worse and worse. The Dodge 1500s, much like other trucks, breathe through the fuel cap. On the Martin Fire, three different Dodge 1500 pickups had their gas caps plug up with dust to the point that the fuel tank couldn't breathe properly. This, in turn, caused the fuel tank to partially collapse two of the tanks and totally collapse one of the tanks.
