    The Midewin Interagency Hotshot Crew was en route to their home base in Illinois after being released from a fire assignment in Florida. While attempting to cross Interstate 40 on foot near the hotel were the crew was staying, two crewmembers were hit by an 18-wheel-semi-truck. One of the hotshots was killed and the other was seriously injured.
