Miners Peak Medical Evacuation 2015

At approximately 0430, a firefighter who had been assigned to do structure wrap on a fire lookout fell approximately 18 feet from the lookout's catwalk, landing on a pile of jagged granite rocks, receiving a fractured skull with lacerations to the head, broken vertebra and ribs, and injuries to his feet. His fellow crewmembers declared a medical emergency and requested a medical evacuation by air.
