    Jack McCloskey Boles, an 18-year-old soon-to-be senior at Flathead County High School, received a wound to the left leg from an ax while fighting a fire in Northern Montana on August 21. The wound had Boles admitted to the hospital where he remained for 8 days. On August 28, Boles developed tetanus, and he succumbed at 2100 on August 29. Boles may have been employed as a firefighter by the Flathead National Forest.
