    During a wildland firefighting Initial attack pre-position assignment in Sunriver, Oregon, the Siskiyou Rappel Crew responded to a request for search and rescue mutual aid from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue (SAR) Team. The subject was a lost and distressed hiker located in the Sisters Ranger District, Deschutes National Forest, in the Mount Jefferson Wilderness outside of Sisters, Oregon. Rappelers were delivered to the hiker's location to begin delivering care. The hiker was successfully hoisted and transported to the hospital by a National Guard helicopter.
