North Trask Fire Hit by Tree Fatality 1913

Joseph Stokes, an employee at the Carlton Logging Company, was killed by a falling tree while suppressing a fire on the North Fork of the Trask River in the Oregon Coast Range near Tillamook. Stokes was a member of a 40-person suppression crew when he was struck by this tree that also hit A. Brown, whose leg was broken. Stokes died within a few hours of this tree-strike accident.
