Parker Creek Fire Hit by Rock Fatality 1936

Wilho Aronen, a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) firefighter, was killed when he was hit by a rolling rock on the Parker Creek Fire on the Kaniksu National Forest in Idaho. Aronen's crew was assigned to mop up the fire when the rock rolled down the hill and hit him on head, fracturing his skull. He was killed instantly.
