    Three firefighters were burned while escaping a wildland fire in the area of Pinnacles National Monument, south of Hollister California. A total of six firefighters, including a fire warden, attempted to escape an entrapment in a truck. In dense smoke the truck crashed into a tree. Three of the men received burn injuries before they all escaped to safety. This fire grew to 30,000 acres and burned summer cabins and homes.
