Description:
While engaged in mop-up activities on the Pittman Fire, Ocala National Forest, Florida, a firefighter received a laceration just below the left ankle. The injured firefighter was cutting out a small root wad when the firefighter’s pulaski happened to ricochet and struck the left ankle. The firefighter was taken via ambulance to ER, stitched up and released same day with a recommendation for a follow-up at a surgery center in Orlando, FL as the local center does not accept OWCP.
