Description:
At 1638 on September 4, 1971, a Grumman TBM-3E registered N6825C and operating as Tanker E37 crashed during suppression operations on a fire near Placerville, California. The aircraft hit trees while on its retardant run. The sole pilot, Richard Ranck, was killed in the accident.
