    On Sunday, October 9, 2022, at approximately 6:30 PM, in Placerville, California, a Fire Captain and Firefighter I were performing minor repairs to an Emergency Crew Transport (ECT) when a fire started in one of the compartments on the vehicle. While attempting to extinguish the fire with portable fire extinguishers, the fire grew rapidly causing 2nd and 3rd degree burns to the upper body of the Fire Captain and Firefighter I. Both were transported to UC Davis Burn Center and remain hospitalized.
