Plymouth Fire Dozer Rollover 2006

This California Department of Forestry dozer rollover incident occurred on the Plymouth Fire on August 8, 2006. As the dozer was stopped, pointed uphill on a 51% slope, the dozer slid suddenly off the edge of a large rock and quickly overturned. The dozer began to roll downhill, violently overturning four complete times, for a distance of 100 feet. The machine came to rest on its left side. The operator was conscious, turned off the machine, and radioed a request for rescue. Nearby crews extricated the operator and he was air lifted for subsequent medical treatment for moderate injuries. The dozer received substantial damage.
