Description:
Charles Russell Hogan, a 19-year-old from Missoula, was killed instantly when he was struck by a snag while fighting a fire on the Powell Ranger District, Clearwater National Forest, Idaho. Hogan was part of a two-person smokechaser squad the Forest Service used to fight small, remote fires.
