Description:
On Thursday, July 19, 2012, smoke was reported in the West Jordan Gulch drainage 14 miles west of Meeker, Colorado. During suppression operations, a dust devil formed and picked up fire and became a large fire whirl. Firefighters sought refuge in vehicles. No injuries or property damage resulted except for 300 feet of burnt hose.
