Description:
An IHC Firefighter suffered a heat-related injury while working on the Ranch 2 Fire on the Angeles National Forest. The patient was assessed and treated by a U.S. Forest Service EMT and Line Medic, then transported to a hospital via agency helicopter and ground ambulance. The patient was treated, transported home to recover, and assigned “light duty” for the next two days. An AAR was conducted with the crew, SOF and DIVS. (This was the first confirmed Heat-Related Injury case that required helicopter/ambulance evacuations on this same fire on two consecutive days.)
