Description:
On August 13, 2018 at approximately 5:25 PM, a Very Large Air Tanker (VLAT) completed a retardant drop along Division C of the Ranch Fire, part of the Mendocino Complex Fire in Mendocino County, California. Following the drop, three firefighters suffered minor injuries and one firefighter suffered fatal injuries after being struck by falling tree debris.
