Description:
Herbert Cook, the 57-year-old superintendent of the Northern Wyoming Land Company, died suddenly while employed by the Bighorn National Forest fighting a fire on Rock Creek north of Buffalo, Wyoming. Cook was one of hundreds of firefighters, including Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) crews, ranchers and "dudes." Cook was apparently the victim of a heart attack.
