  • Description:

    A crewmember on a Type 4 Engine was building handline on the Russell Gulch Fire, Tonto National Forest, Arizona, when HRI was detected. The injury was described as a “green” medical, the patient was conscious and alert and the local FD administered an IV quickly. After 10-15 minutes of IV treatment, the crewmember’s condition improved. The crewmember was transported to the local hospital in Globe, AZ, where bloodwork was completed and reviewed. Crewmember was released within an hour and cleared for fully duty.
