Description:
While attempting to mitigate a burning a snag on the Miller Creek 04 Prescribed Fire, Conecuh National Forest, Alabama, a sawyer spilled saw fuel from the chainsaw's fuel reservoir onto his clothing. The fuel ignited when embers fell onto the sawyer from the burning tree, and his saw chaps and pant leg ignited. It was determined that the sawyer was uninjured, and that the cause of the saw fuel spill was an improperly seated "quarter turn" fuel cap.
