Description:
On July 7, 2024 contracted dozer was working on a fire near Butte Falls, OR. After leaving the dozer in a safety zone to bed down, the operator returned for the night shift, to find active fire behavior next to the dozer. The operator pushed out a larger safety zone and worked with the air attack and a lead plane to cool down the area with water and retardant, allowing the dozer to egress.
