Description:
While conducting ignitions on a prescribed fire on the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site, a firefighter suffered burn injuries to the back of one leg. While moving through thick fuels—which included vines—the firefighter became entangled/caught up and drip torch fuel burned the back of one leg. The firefighter was transported by agency-owned vehicle to Augusta Burn Center, where a 1/2-dollar size 1st and 2nd degree burn was assessed. He was treated and released with no need for follow up.
