Description:
An engine crewmember exhibited symptoms of Heat Stress. Medics on scene of the Sawtooth Fire administered an IV and determined that the crewmember needed to go to the hospital for further evaluation. A total of five saline bags were administered. The crewmember was transported to the hospital via government vehicle by the Engine Captain with the Line Medic in the vehicle. The crewmember was held for observation and released that afternoon. There was no medical follow-up necessary for the crewmember.
