  • Description:

    Pilot Leo Koponen and Air Tactical Group Supervisor (ATGS) Samuel Tobias were both killed when the Cessna T337C they were traveling in crashed shortly after takeoff from Alamogordo. The two were assigned to the Scott Able Fire on the Lincoln National Forest for ATGS supervision duty. After takeoff both engines lost power for reasons the NTSB could not determine, and following the loss of power the aircraft entered a stall/spin and impacted terrain.
