  • Description:

    A Heavy Equipment Task Force consisting of two feller bunchers, a dozer, and a skidder were working on Division Zulu of the Sheep Gap Fire on the Lolo National Forest. Fire behavior prompted retreat to their designated safety zone 9 miles away. Air Attack eventually recommended they abandon slow moving equipment and evacuate personnel. All personnel were successfully evacuated. The abandoned equipment was destroyed by the fire.
