Description:
A swamper on an Interagency Hotshot Crewmember on the Shelly Fire, Klamath National Forest, California, received a laceration on the chin and mouth when he was struck by his saw partner (sawyer). The injured swamper was taken by ambulance. The sawyer did not see the swamper and impacted him in the face with the chainsaw, resulting in lacerations the chin and mouth. Employee was transported via government vehicle to medical facility and treated with 15 stitches, and released.
