Description:
On August 11, 1919, George Charles, an employee of the Lyman Timber & Lumber Company was struck on the arm by a tree while helping suppress a fire on the company's timber land near Hamilton, east of Sedro-Woolley, Washington. The tree drove Charles' arm violently into his chest. He was taken to the hospital in Sedro-Woolley, where he remained for approximately 24 hours before passing away on the next evening.
