    Hugh McCutcheon, a worker at the Works Progress Administration's Westlake camp, was killed by a falling tree on the morning of April 10, 1939, just below Smith River Falls, upriver from Reedsport, Oregon. The tree pinned McCutcheon to the ground, and he passed away before being taken to the hospital.
