    Julius Starr, assistant fire management officer of the North Umpqua District, Umpqua National Forest collapsed in the fire camp of the Snowshoe Fire on the Malheur National Forest, Oregon. Starr was provided emergency medical care at fire camp, and was unconscious but breathing when he was transported to the hospital in John Day. Starr was later flown to Bend, where he passed away in the hospital.
