Description:
On December 14, 1958, a large fire in the Santa Ana Mountains of Southern California led to the entrapment death of US Forest Service Ranger Joe Edward Adam. Adam was from the Prescott National Forest, working at the time on fires on the Cleveland National Forest. The circumstances surrounding Adam's death are not readily available. The Steward Fire went on to burn over 68,000 acres.
