Sycan River Fire Firefighter Stroke Medical Emergency 2021

  • Description:

    On the Sycan River Fire on the Fremont-Winema National Forest, a firefighter was injured when they exited a vehicle and felt fuzzy, then passed out and sustained a head injury. The individual was taken via Life Flight to Sky Lakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls, Oregon, where it was determined that the patient had suffered a stroke. Five days later, at the time of this report, the patient remains in the hospital.
