    Frank Riley was a firefighter with Sequoia National Park at its Ash Mountain Headquarters. This Ash Mountain Fire Crew was dispatched to a fire above Mineral King at Tar Gap. Riley became separated from the crew and could not be found. Several days later, his body was discovered. He was believed to have died of exposure. Riley was a World War I veteran who had joined the veterans' branch of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) until it disbanded. He then joined the Sequoia National Park fire program.
