Tinker Bugs Rx Fire Hit by Tree Fatality 2025

Firefighter Isabella Oscarson, who was a seasonal employee from Minnesota working for the Idaho Department of Lands, was struck by a falling tree while assisting with the U.S. Forest Service’s Tinker Bugs prescribed fire in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests. Rapid medical assistance was rendered, and Firefighter Oscarson was flown to a hospital in Grangeville, Idaho, where she later passed away.
