Description:
An engine crewmember was engaged in the second initial attack of the day on the Tonto National Forest, Arizona, when dehydration/heat injury was detected. Temperatures were at near-record highs during this fire activity. Firefighters provided on-scene first aid, and the injured firefighter was transported to the hospital, where IV therapy was administered, and a prescription for potassium was given. The firefighter was cleared to return to work.
