Description:
A U.S. Forest Service employee engaged in prescribed fire burning on the Umpqua National Forest was dragging a drip torch and tripped and fell--dripping fire/fuel on the back of leg. This resulted in a 2nd degree palm-sized burn to calf. An onsite Forest Service EMT provided initial care. The patient was transported by agency vehicle to Mercy Hospital in Bend, Oregon and was treated and released the same day with follow-up instructions.
