  • Description:

    On May 4, 2021 the Great Plains Fire Management Zone conducted a prescribed burn on Unit 38 South at Ft. Niobrara National Wildlife Refuge, Nebraska. Unit 38 South is 337 acres. There was a large fire whirl that traveled from the middle of the unit across the Southern holding line, resulting in a 12-acre slopover on private land, causing the prescribed burn to be declared a wildfire.
