Description:
A firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide poisoning while on a prescribed fire on the Stanislaus National Forest, California. Initially, based on the difficulty the firefighter was having breathing, the incident was classified as a “red” incident. Once the firefighter received oxygen, symptoms improved quickly. The on-scene/assigned ambulance transported the firefighter to the hospital where the firefighter was treated and released.
