White River Fire Springpole Strike 2018

White River Fire, Mount Hood National Forest: A U.S. Forest Service firefighter building fireline cut a springpole that released and hit his hardhat and scrapped his goggles off. Forest Service EMTs treated the firefighter on scene and incident overhead drove him to an Emergency Department. The patient was diagnosed with blunt force trauma to the eye and is expected to recover without surgery.
