Williams Fire Infected Scratch on Knee 2020

On the Williams Fire on the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, a Task Force Leader Trainee sustained a small scratch on the knee while moving equipment in the back of a truck. Over the next few days, the employee started experiencing pain in their knee, which became swollen and infected. The employee was examined at the Medical Unit and driven to the hospital in an agency vehicle. The patient was checked into the hospital and given IV antibiotics. A full recovery is expected.
