Description:
On the afternoon of June 10, 2006, the Zion National Park Fire Use Module was assigned to the Wilson Wildland Fire Use incident on the Gila National Forest in New Mexico. The Fire Use Module’s 2002 Ford F-450 Super Duty crew truck with an S&S Fire Rescue Support package caught fire and burned. There was no active wildland fire in the immediate area of the truck when the vehicle fire occurred. The Serious Accident Investigation Report lists fuels, pyrotechnics, batteries, or electrical problems with the vehicle as possible causes of the vehicle fire.
