Description:
While swamping for a falling module on the Windy Fire on the Sequoia National Forest, a firefighter fell hands-first into an ash pit, receiving second degree burns from the elbow to wrist on both arms—with an estimated 16 percent of burn coverage. The patient was transported via ground ambulance to a Drop Point, then via helicopter to Helibase where Life Flight provided transport to a Level 1 Trauma Center with an accredited Burn Center.
